Open Test at Rosedale

Sunday 13th April 2025

I think I can safely say that everyone who attended our Working Test at Rosedale today had a good time. The ground is challenging and the judges, Glyn Coupar, Paul Stogden, Rebecca Thistle and Daniel Marx made the most of the what was on offer, using the steep moorland banks, stone walls, ditches and grasses to provide the dogs and handlers the opportunity to show themselves at their best (or worst). The club and competitors thank the judges for their time and dedication to the sport.

Our thanks go to David Ross and Head Keeper Jimmie Brough for allowing us to use this fantastic valley in the heart of the North Yorkshire Moors, most definitely Gods Own Country.

Thank you also to our sponsors Vet Spec and Sporting Saint for donating vouchers for food and prizes.

As always everyone is grateful to those who come and give up their time to help the judges, throwing and placing dummies and facilitating the event, Tony, Alan, Simon, Andrew, Wendy, Carly, Paul and Sharon. Competitions could not run without helpers and if everyone could find time to give a bit back by helping at a couple of events a year it would make the job of organisers much easier.

The results:

1st Place – Cuckavalda Black Bean – Sandra Ellis

After a run off between siblings for 2nd & 3rd Place

2nd Place – Valleyend Kate – Barry Taylor

3rd Place – FtCh Valleyend Kamalane – Liz Taylor

COMs:

Yatts at Foxholes of Oakshot – Graham Slater

Kentwone Midnight Crow – Bill Lambell

Congratulations to all in the awards.

Lastly a big, big thank you to all the competitors who made it an enjoyable day and we hope to see you at our next Open Test – Warter Priory, Nr Pocklington on 1 June 2025
